In a move that seeks to consolidate service delivery to the people of Uasin Gishu County, the County Directors on Friday held a consultative meeting that was aimed at highlighting on ways of gradually improving service delivery, harmonizing activities and running Rapid Results Initiative (RRI) approaches.
For service delivery areas to be well coordinated, the mid-level agreed to work as a team, identify departments with similar activities and work on ways of complementing each other.
The main agenda of the meeting was to get synergy in their operations.
In a presentation during the meeting, county’s Chief of Staff Dr.Joseph Lagat, being a former Chair of the County Public Service Board centered on how Directors and other mid-level managers affect service delivery and the overall performance of a county government.
"Thye shared vision of the County Government of Uasin Gishu under the leadership of the Governor and the policies are simplified and actualized at the level of the Directors. Strong directorates means a working government" Said Dr Tanui.
The Directors agreed to have a follow up meeting where there will be presentation of projects and the status of the government programs.
Effective revenue collection and ways of expanding revenue base will also be discussed in the meeting.
Team work emphasis for effectiveness on service delivery is another area that will be addressed.
