The orange democratic movement party leader Hon Raila was in Nyeri county for two days where he was popularizing his presidential ambitions ahead of the next general election. According to the news which was shared on the social media platforms, the meeting was attended by many leaders from Mount Kenya region and other from the government.
The former prime minister Raila Odinga so met with Kikuyu Elders who promised him support in the next general election. Despite that, the government officials who attended a meeting with the former prime minister Raila Odinga in Nyeri includes minister for Agriculture Him Peter Munya. The other leaders includes the minister for information communications technology Hon Joe Mucheru, Karancha Kibicho, Interior cabinet secretary Dr Fred Matiangi, health minister Mutai Kagwe, ambassador Monica Juma among other politicians.
The leaders who attended a meeting agreed to support Raila in the presidential race where he will be competing with Ruto. Raila also urged the residents to maintain peace among each other as we focus on the next general election.
