Former Citizen TV Anchor Hussein Mohammed Likely to Be Appointed To Cabinet

Former Citizen TV News anchor Hussein Mohammed is allegedly being fronted for a powerful and top job President William Ruto’s Cabinet.

The celebrated journalist quit TV job in October 2019 ending a career spanning close to 10 years to focus on other issues. According to highly placed close to President William Samoei Ruto, Hussein Mohamed, who served as the head of communications in Ruto's presidential campaign team is being linked to a cabinet post in the new administration that was sworn in on 13th September 2022. Mohammed joined Ruto’s Communication team on 22nd January 2022. Revealing the reason for accepting the job offer, Hussein noted that he shares in Ruto's hustler narrative which, according to him, further resonates with other many Kenyans.

Hussein has been working closely with President William Samoei Ruto and was part of the Kenya Kwanza delegation that accompanied Ruto to foreign tours during the Campaign period to the United States of America and the United Kingdom.

Insiders, however, were cagey to detail which ministry President Ruto sees the media practitioner fit to handle as he grapples with rewarding his loyal allies who stood by him during the campaigns popularising his presidential bid.
