City lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has reacted to today's Kenya Kwanza rally in the coastal region.
Ruto, the Kenya Kwanza Alliance presidential candidate, toured the county of Kwale where he drummed up support for his bid. He was flanked by Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya, Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua, Speaker Justin Muturi and MPs Feisal Abdalla and Khatib Mwashetani.
Ahmednasir seemed displeased by the DP's decision to visit the region noting that the campaign team was not focusing on adding value to Ruto's vote basket because they were visiting places already perceived to be under the grip of the deputy president.
The Kwale Governor is a longtime ally of the DP. The county gave the Jubilee government a sizeable amount of votes compared to other coastal counties which voted overwhelmingly for ODM leader Raila Odinga.
Ahmednasir Abdullahi who is a staunch supporter of UDA, therefore, advised Ruto to focus on regions he has not yet gained ground.
"This is a very poor strategy on the part of DP Ruto and team. Why waste time and resources on Kwale when your support is at 83%...surely you can spend your measly resources better," he wrote on his official Twitter handle on Friday evening referring to Ruto's tweet about a rally he had today at Samburu Trading Center in Kwale.
