Joho Wins the Hearts of Meru Residents With His Big Promise While in Accompany of Raila Odinga

On Monday, ODM leader Raila Odinga was in Meru County, Central Kenya as he continues with his series of rallies to popularize himself to the Mt Kenya region, a region he has performed decimally in the recent election.

The former Prime Minister was accompanied by Meru governor Kiraitu Murungi and Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho. Meru is known for the production of Khat, popularly known as Miraa.

The ODM leader has promised that he will revive Kenya relations with Somalia so that the Miraa market will be reopened in the Horn of Africa.

While addressing the multitude, Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho promised that Raila Odinga will also export Miraa to DRC Congo. Excited by his Meru tour, the Mombasa governor declared that all the Miraa that will be entering Mombasa county will not be taxed.

The ODM deputy party leader who is currently serving his last term in office has also promised to return to Meru county to plan the future with them once Raila Odinga wins the upcoming 2022 polls.

This is a big win for Raila Odinga since Meru county is the biggest producer of the Miraa plant. The veteran politician also promised to offer employment opportunities to the Meru people once he is elected to office.
