VIDEO: A Little Girl Takes to The Podium to Campaign for MP Mishra

Controversial Kesses constituency Member of Parliament Swarup Mishra on Wednesday evening was overwhelmed by emotions during one of his campaign rallies in Chepkoiyo Village, in the interior parts of the Kesses constituency. Despite the heavy rains, the villagers turned up in large numbers to accord the legislator who came unannounced a warm welcome.

The Villagers stood in the rain as the lawmaker who was accompanied by his team sheltered in the campaign vehicles to address them and sell their manifesto for reelection.

The climax of this was witnessed when a little girl took to the podium to address the voters and asked them to re-elect the lawmaker. In the video shared by the MP on Facebook, the little girl who can be estimated to be around six years old and who spoke with a lot of courage and command said that Mishra deserves to be elected again and that she would have voted for him if she was eligible to take to the ballot box.

The first-term lawmaker is seeking to be elected again on an independent party ticket after a bitter fallout with Deputy President Ruto and his allies who were the pillars of his election in the 2017 general elections. The legislator a native Indian, arrived in the country a few years ago for health sector business before taking a route to politics.

This has put the legislator in trouble as Rift Valley political heavyweights who previously supported his entry into politics have denounced him and are now actively campaigning against him. This has served the MP a rough journey as he battles for reelection as a result of the supremacy of William Ruto's UDA party which has taken the region by a storm.
