Several senators have shown their interests to vie for the lucrative governor's sit in 2022. The powers and privileges that comes with the office of the governor,apart from development agenda are key factors for senators to dislodge first term or replace outgoing governors.
Fierce political battles are looming in the counties after several senators have declared interests to displace their first term serving governors. Research done by this opera news reporter reveals big names that maybe forced to head home by their senators in 2022 per county.
Kisumu county
Senator Fred Outa of Kisumu county have declared an all out war with his erstwhile friend and campaign mate Governor Anyang' Nyong'o. He has accused Nyogo of abandoning him after campaigning for him in 2017 and concerns that he term as rampant corruption, neglect of some parts of the country in development and initiated projects without consulting residents.

However, Outa's attacks on Nyong'o have been viewed by the governor's supporters as tactics to discredit Nyong'o's administration in the eye of the voters.
Kitui county
Senator Wambua aims to remove first term governor Charity Ngilu. He has constantly criticised Ngilu and her political bandwagon for malpractices and impropriety. This will be a hard task for Wambua especially if Ngilu forms part of a serious political coalition towards 2022 through Martha Karua's NARC-Kenya. Senator Wambua have also not been so clear on his preference post.
"When that time come and I decide to run for office,the only seat I won't be able to compete is that of Women Representative. Otherwise am qualified for all other posts," Wambua once said
Nakuru county

Senator Susan Kihika and Governor Lee Kinyanjui of Nakuru are believed to be great political foes who do not see eye to eye. The two have logged heads in several occasions both in public and social media. Kihika who is a close ally to Dp Ruto,is in record saying she would vie for the Nakuru governors seat.
Nandi County
Senator Cherargei and Governor Stephen Sang will lock heads in 2022. The two are among the youngest elected officials but have had a frosty relationship since their election,with Cherargei already declaring his interest in Sang's seat.
