The President of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta today hosted "Azimio La Umoja" Members of Parliament at State House, Nairobi for a luncheon. The Head of State was also joined by ODM Party Leader, Raila Odinga in the high profile event days after Pro- Handshake MPs defeated Tangatanga MPs im passage of some controversial bills.

Renowned Nation Media Journalist, Oliver Mathenge has revealed details of the meeting through his official tweeter account. According to Oliver Mathenge, the Head of State thanked "Azimio la Umoja" MPs for putting the country's interest first by leaving their homes and families and ensuring the passage of various bills in National Assembly.
@OliverMathenge "You left your homes, you left your families and came out in huge numbers to pass pieces of legislation that are going to be a game changer," Uhuru to "Azimio" MPs during a luncheon at State House, Nairobi.
"The President, who was joined at the luncheon by Presidential Aspirant Raila Odinga, said the passage of the National Hospital Insurance Fund Bill will enable the government fulfil its universal health coverage pledge."
Pres. Uhuru further thanked the Members of Parliament for ensuring that the National Hospital Insurance Fund Bill was passed which would enable the Government fulfill its universal health coverage pledge. Ruto's ally, Sen. Omanga had earlier criticized the Head of State for only inviting Pro- Handshake MPs and leaving out Tangatanga MPs in today's event.
