Robert Alai is one of the most influential and popular leader in Nairobi County. He is the current Member of the County Assembly of Kileleshwa Ward. He is also a strong ally of former prime Minister Raila Odinga and Nark Kenya leader Martha Karua. He has alleged that Hilton Hotel was built in land where the Nairobi light rail station was to be built. He urges that Hilton Hotel should be donated to Nairobi County. He also alleges that a Kenya Kwanza CS is trying to sell to Nairobi County at a cost of 1.7 billion.
Robert Alai has posted the following message in his official twitter account. "Hilton Hotel was built on land where the Nairobi light rail station was to be built. Hilton Hotel should be donated to Nairobi County. They have recovered the proceeds of corruption from it. A Kenya Kwanza CS is trying to sell it to Nairobi County at Ksh 1.7 billion."
