Blogger and self acclaimed hustlers spokesperson Dennis Itumbi took issue with Kalonzo on a night tweet. This followed news by CD for Health Mutahi Kagwe that only government can import vaccines. The statement by the CS brought a robust discussion on New Media platforms and Kalonzo found himself on the receiving end.
While appearing on Citizen TV, in reference to Ruto taking Sputinik vaccine, Kalonzo said he had taken 'mwananchi' jab. The AstraZeneca which Kalonzo took is being offered freely by the government to its citizens.
Itumbi now wonders, why did Kalonzo take the AstraZeneca vaccine? According to Itumbi Kalonzo should not have taken the vaccine for the following reasons:
1. He could afford to buy vaccine. Instead of taking a free dose he would have let those who cannot afford take it.
2. He jumped the queue. According to the protocols set by the government, it is the frontline health workers who should take the vaccine first.
Kalonzo is yet to respond to these accusations. With a lot of misinformation around vaccination going around on social platforms, Kenyans are encouraged to seek information from the right channels, Ministry Of Health Kenya, World Health Organization, State House Kenya and other verified health and state channels.
