Ealier on Tuesday February 2, Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala together with Devolution CS Eugene Wamalwa and Transport CS Macharia inspected the ongoing construction of Nairobi Expressway.

It is through the inspection process that Tourism CS Najib Balala disclosed that the Expressway will play an important role in the tourism sector. Balala added that the Expressway will cut short the travel time between Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) and Westlands from 2 hours to 15 minutes.
Najib Balala: "The Nairobi Expressway will play a very important role in the tourism sector, in untying the Nairobi city traffic knots and also cutting travel time between Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and Westlands, from about 2 hours (peak time) to just 15 minutes."
The three cabinet secretaries went ahead to inspect Ngong' River restoration progress and sanitation facilities at Kianda. They also visited Kibera primary school to check on the just concluded rehabilitation of the school's borehole.
Najib Balala: "Together with my Cabinet Colleagues, we inspected the progress of the Ngong River restoration program and Kianda sanitation facilities. The success of the Ngong river restoration program will improve the ecosystem, restore biodiversity in the area and provide the neighboring communities with a cost-effective source of clean water. We also visited Kibera Primary School, to inspect the concluded rehabilitation of the school’s borehole, which will ensure an efficient supply of water."
