The President arrived on board a Kenya Air Force Military Chopper accompanied by his Security detail. He was warmly welcomed to Nyeri County by Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru and Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho.
According to an official statement by the State House, the president has landed in Nyeri for a series of engagements among them having a meeting with Governor Waiguru and Kibicho concerning the upcoming Mashujaa day celebrations.
Waiguru’s Kirinyaga County is this year’s Mashujaa day host at the Wangura stadium in Mwea. PS Kibicho is also a host of the same event.
The President is also expected to address Kenyans on his way to Nyeri concerning the curfew and other measures.
Also, Uhuru is expected to address the growing tiff between Waiguru and Kibicho concerning the Mashujaa celebrations after Waiguru decried of being left behind on important plans.
