The Mashujaa day celebrations kicked off today at Wang'uru stadium in Kirinyaga county. The occasion was attended by Lazarus Chakwera and Monica Chakwera who are the President and the First Lady of the Republic of Malawi respectively.
Political leaders who attended were President Uhuru Kenyatta, Deputy President William Ruto, Governor Ann Waiguru, Hon Wangui Ngirichi, Hon. Gideon Moi, Hon Musalia Mudavadi, Ps Karanja Kibicho, Cs Matiangi, and Cs Eugine Wamalwa.
In his speech president, Kenyatta talked about the developments that he intends to do before going out of office in 2022. President Kenyatta also lifted the dusk to dawn curfew that was put in place to contain the Coronavirus disease.
Aside from that, Uhuru also addressed the issue of social gatherings, where he increased the number of those who are supposed to be in a gathering from one-third to two-thirds. He stated that the revised measures were put in place about the advice from the health committee.
