ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga is yet to officially declare his presidential candidacy, his loyalists are leaving nothing to chance. Embakasi East MP Babu Owino who is one of the greatest supporters of Raila Odinga has invited fellow youth to attend a dinner event with the ODM Party leader.
The event which will be held at hotel Kempinsky will be graced by Raila Odinga himself. The event is geared towards raising cash for presidential campaigns. Each attendant will be required to contribute Sh 1 Million according to Babu Owino. Owino has said that youth's future and that of their children is only safe in Raila's hands. For that to happen, Babu has urged fellow youth to make that Sh 1 million towards the campaign kitty.
Contributing for campaigns is not something novel. Politicians in the country frequently host dinners where there supporters contribute to facilitate campaigns. With IEBC removing cap on election spending, a presidential campaign will cost to the tune of billions. It is expected other presidential aspirants will also hold similar dinner events to raise the much needed campaign funds.
