Juja: Jubilee Threatens a Move to Court as Supporters Storm Out of Mang'u Tallying Center Again

Moments after the vote counting exercise resumed on Wednesday morning at Mang'u High School, the main tallying centre for the Juja Constituency, Jubilee party candidates supporters have stormed out of the center.

Led by Kiambu Town MP Jude Njomo and the Jubilee flag bearer Susan Njeri, the supporters said they will not seat down at the center and watch a flawed process, where some of their candidate's votes were allegedly left uncounted in some of the stations.

This comes just hours after protestors, led by Kiambu county Governor James Nyoro on Tuesday evening, disrupted the counting process, leading to its suspension.

Addressing the press outside the tallying center, the angered Jubilee leaders said they will move to court to challenge any ruling that IEBC will make against the will of Juja people.

"We will not sit down and see the will of the people being subdued. We will challenge the process in court, should the IEBC goes on and announce flawed results," threatened MP Njomo.

Despite this, IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati, who has already arrived in Mang'u tallying center, has assured Juja residents that no malpractice will be tolerated by the commission during the process.

Chebukati said papers which Jubilee claims to have been left out were malicious materials peddled by unknown persons to the polling stations trying to manipulate the counting process.

Luckily, by the time of arrival, the IEBC officers had already concluded the counting and have the forms 34A already signed and all voting materials sealed in the ballot boxes. He said all IEBC ballot papers have serialized numbers and they already know how many ballot papers were used as captured by the KIMs Kit.

"Ballot papers are serialised and we know how many ballot papers were used in the whole process so anybody who thinks they can introduce foreign papers in the polling is a total waste of time (SIC)." stated Wafula Chebukati.

But even as the drama unfolds, People's Empowerment Party candidate George Koimburi continues to take an early lead as per Wednesday mid morning. Here are some of the latest results;
