We're almost nearing the general elections which are just a few months away. Every aspirant is working on his campaign grounds to ensure that everything is fine and signals of winning the elections are brighter and assuring. Among the top political influencers we have Dr. Alfred Mutua the outgoing Machakos County Governor. Mutua has been in that position for quite a while since 2013 and now it's his time to leave.
A few days ago, Alfred declared his political stand in this year's elections. He decamped Azimio La Umoja and together with his Maendeleo Chap Chap party joined UDA which is Ruto's side. However, rumours emerged claiming that Mutua will be vying for Mwala Parliamentary Seat under UDA.
Speaking via his Twitter account, Mutua has clarified the story by saying that he's not interested in any elective position. His main job right now is promoting UDA in it's campaign. According to him, UDA will make dreams come true through the introduction of a new system of governance.
In the same speech, Mutua has disclosed the position he'll get if UDA wins the elections. He has said that Ruto promised him the position of being the Deputy Chief Minister as well as a Cabinet Secretary of Infrastructure.
"For the avoidance of doubt, I wish to clarify that at this particular time, I am not running for any elective position in the forthcoming elections. I am concentrating on campaigning for the Kenya Kwanza coalition so that Kenya can get a new system where dreams can come true," he tweeted.
