There was drama during today's Parliament session after a section of Members of Parliament demanded to know the whereabouts of President Museveni
President Museveni missed attending the funeral ceremony of Queen Elizabeth II. Several African presidents and leaders were seen being driven on a bus to the venue where the ceremony happened but President Museveni was not spotted.
Ugandan MPs are now raising concerns about whether their elderly leader is fine or sick.
The lawmakers also noted that President Museveni had not just missed Queen's funeral, but also his daughter's giveaway, which according to them was unusual considering he is always a family man.
The MPs wanted to be briefed about his health, adding Museveni is an old man
“I saw African presidents on a bus attending the Queen’s funeral, President Museveni was missing. He also missed his daughter’s giveaway. I want to know if he’s okay, given his advanced age. You know you people removed the age limit so we have to keep checking on him," one MP said
It is not clear why Museveni did not attend the funeral of the Queen. His Kenyan and Tanzanian counterparts, Presidents William Ruto and Samia Suluhu Hassan respectively attended the funeral. The duo was spotted in one bus heading to the venue.
