"This has been a consultative meeting between the governors and the fifth as we assured him of our support and discuss the way forward with regards to the Presidential elections. There were 30 of us present and a couple of us who were absent with apology," Laikipia Governor Ndiritu Mureithi made the huge announcement of today's endorsement.
Several top leaders allied to the Orange Democratic Movement Party leader Raila Odinga rejoiced on this major endorsement that gives his Presidential bid a huge boost in ensuring that he comes out as the winner.
Kieni Constituency Member of Parliament Hon Kanini Kega was among the leaders who expressed their rejoice as he took to his official Twitter podcast where he wrote:
"At least 30 Governors have endorsed Baba Raila Odinga to be the 5th president."
However, Hon Kanini Kega received harsh responses from Kenyans who claimed that this was not a major achievement because the governors have no votes. Take a look:
