Waiguru Was Right, Here is a Cardinal Mistake DP Ruto Should Avoid in His Bid to Humble Agwambo

You cannot analyze Mt Kenya present day politics without Anne Waiguru's name popping up and taking a good segment of your political commentary. The Kirinyaga County governor is currently flip flopping between Uhuru Kenyatta's Kieleweke and Ruto's Tanga Tanga camps in a bid to find her political bearing.

Waiguru is looking forward to defend her position but as it seems, she is on her wits end courtesy of sloppy nature of politics. Pundits are of a theory that Anne will altogether be a key influencer in 2022 succession politics.

Anne may not be the greatest stone in Ruto's political sling but the doyen should at least drink from her well of counsel or lest, kidagaa kitamwozea. Throwing her prophetic hat into 2022 presidential race, Waiguru once discoursed that 2022 hopefuls will look for the votes themselves and none should brag of holding Mt Kenya votes at ransom.

Her sentiments were indirect advice to Raila Odinga and William Ruto who are drooling to get Mt Kenya support. Jomo's son who is the region's mantelpiece bearer has taken a back bench leaving Jakom and Ruto to lock horns in his turf.

Kenyatta II was anticipated to return hand and support his deputy who stood with him in 2013 and 2017 elections but he has instead resorted to sitting on the fense. Despite of his glowing camaraderie with ODM chief, Uhuru has left him (Baba) to climb the mountain alone, how accurate Waiguru was!

Worth a note is Waiguru's second counsel that warned Mt Kenya admirers from overestimating themselves. Days after Ruto chest thumbed and crowned himself Mt Kenya kingpin, Radio Africa Group rated him as the most preferred presidential candidate in Uhuru's turf with a 57% rating. Following him was Agwambo with a meagre 11%.

The above statistics solidifies Ruto's October 09, 2021 claim that he is the inherent heir of Kenyatta II but Waiguru warns him to be wary for politics is dynamic and anything can happen between now and 2022 which will consequently spoil his chances.

Unlike Samoei who has made incessant visits to the mountain, Raila has just began and he may soon succeed to dissipate Ruto's influence. As street sage puts it; Game Bado! Ruto should brace himself for political fireworks.
