Ledama Ole Kina Tells Raila a Strategy They Must Use to Win Bungoma And Elgeyo Marakwet By-elections

Ford Kenya's Moses Wetangula, left his position as senator for Bungoma in order to run for speaker of the National Assembly.

The Kenya Kwanza alliance, in accordance with their pre-election pact, fronted Wetangula to be its candidate. To win the Speaker election conducted in the National Assembly chambers, Wetangula defeated Kenneth Marende, who had been backed by Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya.

According to reports, Wetangula fronted his PA Wafula Wakoli to replace him in the Senate seat representing Bungoma, which is now empty.

Onesmus Kipchumba Murkomen, an Elgeyo Marakwet senator, resigned from the Senate before to being sworn in as the CS for Roads, Transport, and Public Works.

Like Moses Wetangula, the politician was scheduled to serve his third term in the Senate.

Ledama Ole Kina, a senator from Narok, has encouraged Raila to make sure that Kenya Kwanza has secured both the Bungoma and Elgeyo Marakwet seats as it realigns to front its candidates to take the place of Wetangula, Murkomen, Wahome, and Duale.

Olekina predicted that their plan will be to inform the common mwananchi that the price of unga is rising with no signs of it decreasing, that youths face the possibility of being slapped with taxes as early as the age of 18, that fuel prices and the cost of living are high, and, most importantly, that the government is made up of 88% appointees of Mt. Kenya and the North Rift.

"We must win Bungoma and Elgeyo Marakwet bi-elections @RailaOdinga this time we focus 100% on issues - look at the cost of living. Voters need to understand that the price of Unga will not come down, fuel prices high and 18 year old taxed! The govt 88% Mt Kenya & North Rift," he stated.
