Deputy President William Samoei Ruto and his allies, led by Turkana County Governor Hon Josephat Nanok, have petitioned the IEBC to summon ICT Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru over his remarks endorsing Odinga for presidency.
Hon. Joe Mucheru addressed the media, claiming that the allegations are baseless and that his body is not affiliated with the independent electoral body and that he is not involved in any plot to rig the elections. He informed UDA party head Hon William Samoei Ruto of this throughout his 2017 campaign for them, and they made no complaint.
The Cabinet secretary has requested an investigation into deputy president William Samoei Ruto's office, claiming that he wields far more power than he does and citing numerous reasons to believe that Ruto has clear plans to undermine election openness as we approach the polls.
He warned Deputy President William Samoei Ruto not to make unfounded assertions in the face of defeat.
