What Raila Told Nanyuki Residents After They Blocked His Motorcade, Leaving Them Chanting His Name

The former Prime Minister Raila Odinga's motorcade was today blocked by mammoths of Nanyuki town residents as he made his way from Laikipia en route to his Karen residence, Nairobi County. According to reports by various media houses like The Star, Citizen TV Kenya and ODM Party Kenya, a supporters turned up in large numbers to welcome the Orange Democratic Movement party boss who had already addressed an equally large crowd within the market square.

They expressed their love and happiness with the ODM Party leader by blocking his entire convoy as they chanted his name before demanding to be addressed by him. Raila was forced to stop and address the large crowd. In his speech, the former Prime Minister urged the Nanyuki locals and entire nation to remain peaceful during this economic hardship and political campaigns as he tries to iron things out. He warned them against allowing themselves to be divided by selfish politicians who are after grabbing their lands and embezzling government funds.

“We thank you for your warm reception once again. As we embark on this redemption journey, we must all exercise peaceful coexistence amongst ourselves regardless of tribal, geographical, religious, and political affiliations. We must also remain united and avoid falling into the traps of selfish leaders who are after their personal ambitions. My dream is for a better Kenya. It is very possible to achieve this dream together. Inawezekana,” Raila said.

Raila’s noble remarks left the crowd chanting his name as they expressed their joy and togetherness with his development agenda. His warm reception by Laikipia and Nanyuki residents sparked mixed reactions among social media users with most people pledging to support his presidential bid ahead of the coming 2022 general elections.
