2022 politics is already taking shape as political bigwigs unveil their plans ahead of the next general election. New political formations are as well expected to hit the road at a time presidential aspirants are in a race to secure the vote rich regions by convincing the voters to believe in their political ideologies.

Mt Kenya is one such regions that many presidential aspirants have been seen to be making several inroads, with many political analysts currently predicting that the region may massively support Deputy President William Ruto's quest for the top seat more than any other candidate.

However, an alleged statement made by Kirinyaga governor Ann Waiguru concerning the Mt Kenya community over the 2022 elections has angered one of Deputy President William Ruto's allies.

Kandara Member of Parliament Alice Wahome has demanded an immediate apology from the Kirinyaga governor for what she termed as insulting and making the community look cheap through a statement she recently made.

Wahome said that governor Waiguru has been on record saying that you can only rent, but can not buy a Kikuyu, a statement Wahome said is degrading to the same voters who gave the governor a job by voting for her.

Wahome claimed that the governor's claim that they are ready to negotiate with presidential candidates ahead of 2022 has nothing to do with the community. She said that as Mt Kenya, they are already decided and have given William Ruto a job as the 5th president of Kenya.

"We want our governor to know that she needs to apologise to the entire community of Mt Kenya because her words are insulting and cheapening the same community that gave her the job," Wahome said.

"We are nolonger discussing the issue of presidency. We have given William Ruto a job so if you are still looking for somebody then you are wrong," she added. <>[Watch From minutes 4:40]

The second in command asked the leaders who still have the audacity to make such statements to to desist, as he claimed that such leaders are just abusing Kenyans.

"I want to say this here in Mt Kenya, that leaders should stop abusing Kenyans. Today, there is no Kenyan who can be bought or rented," Ruto said. <>
