Roots Party is on crisis as the two top leaders read from different scripts and openly engage in verbal exchanges. The party leader and former presidential candidate Prof George Wajakoyah and his running mate Justina Wamae are engaged in public exchange on social media with respect to conducts and discipline.

This is after a letter written by the party's legal director Washika Wachira surmoning Justina Wamae for a disciplinary hearing surfaced online. On the letter, the former running mate is accused of misrepresenting the party in her personal communications, accusing the party leader of supporting Azimio's Raila Odinga, admitting that the elections were transparent and fair, and congratulating president elect Dr William Ruto.

Justina Wamae was therefore surmoned to appear for a disciplinary hearing at the party's headquarters.

However, in a swift rejoinder, Justina downplayed the surmon, adding that she would not respond to pettiness. While responding to Prof Wajakoyah's tweet, Justina downplayed the allegation that the party offered her accommodation and vehicle, terming it "imaginary. 'It is your party do what you deem fit, I will soldier on.' Justina wrote.

According to other reports by, Justina equally insist that she would not resign from the party either, comparing her predicaments to those of the former Nairobi Gubernatorial candidate Polycarp Igathe whose resignation as deputy governor during the era of Mike Mbuvi Sonko came back to haunt him during campains.
