Two Tangatanga MPs In Trouble As EACC Goes After Them Over Misuse Of Military Titles

Two allies of the deputy president William Ruto risk being arrested over misuse of military titles. The two members of parliament are Sirisia Constituency member of parliament Hon. John Waluke and Kimilili constituency member of parliament Hon. Didmus Barasa.

The Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission accuses the two controversial members of parliament of misquandering as senior Kenya Defence Forces Officers. EACC has written to the national assembly warning against the use of tittles Major (Rtd) for John Waluke and captain for Barasa.

According to the Anti Corruption body, the two did not attain the titles while serving at the Military. For Barasa, according to the investigations by EACC, he only served for one year and 76 days before he was fired over absenteeism and forgery after he was found to have faked documents to access a credit facility. The Member of parliament who faces several charges reportedly joined Kenya Air force in 2007 and was fired in 2009 having acquired the rank of title but not captain as he refers to himself.

Waluke on the other hand joined the military in 1980 and was deployed to 76 Armed Reece Battalion in Gilgil where he served as tank loader before becoming a driver, he then requested to be discharged after 14 years of service.

The two allies of Ruto have had controversies one after the other, Waluke was recently charged over corruption where he was fined Millions of money, Barasa was recently captured slapping a contractor and the case is ongoing.
