Westlands parliamentary seat United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate Nelson Havi breaks silence as the rival Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance lands in the Nyanza region in seven choppers ahead of their campaigns.
On Friday, 1st of July, Former prime minister Raila Odinga with Azimio la Umoja brigades stormed his backyard, the Nyanza region to hunt for votes to consolidate their bid as they seek to form the next government.
Conceivably, there was a show of might as they landed in several choppers. Consequently, Nelson Havi reacts merely a day after the mega Azimio rally led by Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua.
As a result, Nelson Havi reacts to the occasion as he connects it to the current economic crisis. Perhaps, the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance and the Kenya Kwanza Alliance have generated a rigorous space between the two as they seek to outwit each other.
However, Nelson Havi is a Kenya Kwanza brigade running against the Azimio. Undoubtedly, Kenya is currently facing tough times as it experiences a high cost of living.
Accordingly, Havi refutes the information that the high cost of living is caused by the war in Ukraine. Besides, he accused the Azimio brigades of misusing the resource as he sarcastically called them the 'Ukrainian Airforce.'
"The high cost of living: fuel prices; Flour prices; punitive rents; over-taxation; unaffordable education and health care are caused by the war in Ukraine. As you can see, the entire Ukrainian Airforce choppers are fueling here in Kenya. It is a heavy burden on the crumbling economy," Nelson Have sarcastically tells Azimio.
