ODM Secretary General Alleges Mistake President Ruto Might Have Done While Appointing His Cabinet

President Ruto's Tuesday, September 28, cabinet picks have drawn criticism from Nairobi lawmaker Edwin Sifuna. Following the appointments, the cabinet secretaries must go via the national assembly to be examined and given the get-ahead to begin their positions.

According to Edwin Sifuna, the president Ruto-led Kenya Kwanza alliance included some respectable individuals. He asserted that the president lacked wisdom since he chose Kenya Kwanza, one of the worst groups of people, and that this demonstrated his lack of commitment to installing a genuine government. Jokingly, Sifuna inquired as to whether the appointments were made from a list of criminal cases updated by the Director of Public Prosecutions' office.

The senator claimed that if his colleagues in the national assembly stayed true to their oath to uphold and defend the constitution, more than half of those appointed would not make it to the cabinet.

"If our colleagues in the National Assembly stay true to their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution, more than half of the appointments proposed should not make it to the cabinet," Sifuna claimed.
