The results of the senatorial nomination in Elgeyo Marakwet had been made public. Hon. Kichumba Murkomen, a former Elgeyo Marakwet senator, took to his Twitter account to congratulate the winners of the highly competitive race.
He congratulated the Hon. William Kisang on your selection as the UDA representative for the upcoming Elgeyo Marakwet County Senatorial by-elections."Let's now move forward together as one indivisible family knowing that competition makes us strong together as it prepares us for service in our various capacities and different duties stations," he added. "Congratulations also to all the other candidates who put up a spirited fight and performed exemplary."

Kipchumba Murkomen was appointed cabinet secretary, the seat became vacant and by-elections will be held in December. Under the UDA, the contest attracted more than 15 candidates. Tim Kipchumba and William Kisang, the primary rivals, emerged victorious.
