Moses Kuria has revealed a plan on how his party will set the pace in the nomination process ahead of next year polls. The legislator Chama Cha Kazi (CCK) party leader declared that the nomination process would be digital.
He added the entire process in CCK would be done electronically through Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) mobile technology and Chama Cha Kazi is the only party that committed that their nominations for Members of County Assembly (MCAs), MPs,Woman Representatives,Senators, Governors and President will be conducted electronically.
Free and fair nominations without digital voting is a con game and the results of the nomination would be streamed real time and online throughout the country making CCK the first to do so as electronic voting was the only way to ensure transparency.
Besides Chama Cha Kazi will not nominate anyone above 45 years to vie for MCA position and explained that the move was feasible casting a doubt on claims that a section of the 21 million registered voters were too old or too illiterate to vote electronically.
He also argued that if 25 million Kenyans are able to use the various mobile banking platforms to transact then they can vote electronically.
