After spending the last five years in the cold, former Teso South MP Mary Emase is back with a bang after recapturing the seat on Deputy President William Ruto's United Democratic Alliance party ticket.
On Wednesday, Ojaamong conceded defeat even before the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission declared the winner of the race.
A political heavyweight in Busia County and particularly Teso region, Emase pulled a shocker in 2013 when she clinched the Teso South MP seat on Ruto's URP party. However, in 2017, she was ousted by Omuse who was vying on an ODM party ticket.
Her choice of Jubilee Party as her political vehicle was to blame for her loss. But despite this, he remained very close to Dr Ruto. To many, this was suicidal considering the popularity of ODM party in the region.
But just as she had done in 2013, she has confirmed that she is indeed a political force to reckon. Write her off at your own risk!
