Raila Odinga Unhappy As Luo Nyanza Community Admits That They Will Not Join Him In Demonstration

Former Migori governor Okoth Obado has decided not to participate in ODM leader Raila Odinga's planned protests against the government the following week.

As the leader of the opposition, Raila has stated that he wants to try and put an end to President William Ruto's purported impunity by using the rallies.

Obado, however, has stated that he and other Luo community members won't be attending the rallies, foreseeing possible deaths as well as violence in such events.

Instead, he has asked Raila to bring his family along and spare the Luos, who he claims have been suffering due to Raila's poor leadership for a long time.

We want to let Raila know that the Luo community will not be joining him in his calls for widespread protests. As reported by The Star, an ex-Raila ally named Obado, "He can take his family on the streets and avoid needless deaths that have seen innocent blood being shed in streets."

On Saturday, he was one of the Luo politicians who accompanied ICT CS Eliud Owalo when he made the comments in Suna West, Migori County.

Raila has however pointed out that the rallies are all about the welfare of the nation and are intended to stop Ruto from ruling with an iron fist.

In order for Kenyans to stop dictatorship from creeping back, he has warned that Ruto is giving off every indication that he intends to take the nation back to the dark ages.

Days earlier, at a press conference held at a city hotel, a different group of former Nyanza elected leaders criticized Raila for the mass action plans.
