Siaya county governor's race is one of the gubernatorial races that have attracted the attention of the majority of Kenyans perhaps due to the popularity of the candidates contesting for the seat.
Among the top candidates eyeing the seat include the county's senator James Orengo who is contesting on an Orange Democratic Movement and former Rarieda member of parliament Hon Nicholas Gumbo who is contesting on an United Democratic Movement (UDM) party.
According to the flamboyant lawyer Steve Ogolla, senator James Orengo is the best candidate to take over from the incumbent Cornell Rasanga after the August general elections.
The lawyer who also hails from Siaya county, through his facebook page noted that senator James Orengo is a man of integrity and with track record who will boost the economic development of the county if given the opportunity to serve in August.
"I endorse Hon James Orengo for Siaya governor. He is a good decent man deserving support, " the lawyer wrote on his Facebook page.
His endorsement comes barely few hours after the azimio presidential candidate Raila Amolo Odinga toured the county and urged his supporters to vote for the ODM candidates eyeing different seats in August.
The ODM party is the most popular party in the county and this is regarded as a greater advantage to senator James Orengo who is vying under the party's ticket.
