Kirinyanga gubernatorial race is heating up day after day. Various leaders from the county are keen on defeating the incumbent governor Anne Waiguru. This leaders includes NARC party leader Martha Karua and Kirinyanga women representative Purity Ngirici. Interior principal secretary Dr. Karanja Kibicho have also shown interest in the seat.
Today NARC party leader Martha Karua began her gubernatorial campaigns in the county. The vibrant leader hosted a powerful delegation from the region at the official residence of one of her supporter Kinyua. The delegation included religious leaders from Africa Independent pentecostal church of Africa. The leaders met at Gichugu constituency in Kirinyanga county.
The former presidential candidate popularized her gubernatorial bid to the church leaders and supporters. Madam Martha Karua is popular and influential in the county. She has been elected in various elective positions in Kirinyanga county. She also served as a cabinet secretary in grand coalition government.
The party leader vied in 2017 and lost to incumbent governor Anne Waiguru. She challenged governor Anne Waiguru victory up to Supreme Court where she eventually lost. She is keen on winning the seat using NARC party ticket.
