A recent move by the Judiciary Service Commission to vet over 9 applicants for the position of Chief Justice has been hailed by Tanzanians who poured their hearts out on the level of democracy in the country.

The majority of those who commented wished the same for their country which has continued to be the center of attraction after the death of the late John Magufuli. The story was first shared by Mwananchi Newspaper a leading news outlet in Tanzania and attracted mixed reactions from Tanzanians.
The majority claimed that this was a sign of a mature democracy that should be emulated by several states across east Africa and beyond. They further hoped that with the new dispensation, democracy in their country will come to life since for long there here has been alleged gagging of those opposed to the government, which has forced some leaders to seek exile in foreign countries.
