Kalonzo And Mudavadi Under Pressure As Hopes Of Climbing Mt. Kenya Reduce Following Waiguru's Claim

Kirinyaga Governor, Anne Waiguru on Friday, September 17 turned down all the running mate offers that various presidential candidates for the 2022 General Election have been enticing her with.

The embattled governor confessed she had received numerous offers to be a possible running mate to leading contenders, but declared she is only interested in recapturing her current seat as governor for Kirinyaga.

Speaking to the press, Waiguru thanked all the leading politicians who had expressed confidence in her and offered her an opportunity to be their running mate.

She, however, said she was only focused on re-election and so far not going to commit to any presidential candidate.

“At this point in time, I am seeking to be re-elected as governor of Kirinyaga County. The day the position changes, I will make it public,” the governor remarked.

Remember the governor has held meetings with a number of party leaders including ODM leader Raila Odinga, ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi and leader of Wiper Democratic movement, Kalonzo Musyoka.

Waiguru said she has met and had discussions with the leaders on matters of national importance and 2022 General Election and considered all their offers.

Although the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) principals targeted to have Waiguru on their side to be able to climb Mt. Kenya. This therefore, means the two presidential hopefuls might fight it difficult to have a share in Central region.
