It is now the new year for Azimio La Umoja One Kenya party to restructure itself after suffering a defeat in 2022 general election. The party is aiming to make sure that its house remain intact and in good condition as next elections are not that far. With Azimio getting appreciable number of votes from Ukambani in the last elections, expectations are that Raila Odinga needs to return a hand there.
Much expectations is that he endorses Ukambani kingpin to lead the coalition. And now, the leaders from the region re pushing for this to happen. According to Enoch Wambua, Kalonzo should be availed early enough for popularization. "We need enough time to popularise our candidate, visit as many parts of this country, and ensure that Kenyans begin to familiarize themselves with the idea of a Kalonzo presidency," Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua stated.
And it is now clear that the region do not want anything less of leading the coalition. "I believe that Raila and the Nyanza backyard of ODM and other strongholds have benefitted from the selflessness of Kalonzo. It is only fair that they reciprocate that gesture this January," Wambua added. The ODM leader does not have any other choice again but to hand over to Kalonzo Musyoka.
