Hon Odinga is expected to choose a running mate who will be able to unite the highly divided region and rally all the votes behind his basket and also counter the rising influence of the deputy president hon William Ruto.

Hon Ndiritu Muriithi, the serving governor of Laikipia county.
Kieni east member of parliament hon Kanini Kega.
Nakuru county governor hon Lee Kinyajui.
The main challenge has been posed by the people of mount Kenya east and the people of Muranga who have insisted that hon Raila Amollo Odinga should pick hon Peter Munya and hon Peter Kenneth as his running mate respectively.
