Poleni Sana Wakenya: President Uhuru's Message To Kenyans After The Death Of Agnes Jebet Tirop

News of the death of kenya's Olympian Agnes Jebet Tirop have been received with utmost sadness by Kenyans. Agnes has been found dead in her house in Iten in Elgeyo Marakwet county under unclear circumstances. She was part of the contingent that represented Kenya in the delayed Tokyo 2020 Olympic games where she finished fourth in the 5000 race.

"It's unsettling, utterly unfortunate and sad that we've lost a young and promising athlete who at the age of 25 had brought the country a lot of glory through her exploits on the global athletics including this year's Tokyo 2020 Olympics where she was part of kenya's team in Japan," president Uhuru Kenyatta has said in reference to Agnes Jebet's departure.

President Uhuru has called on the government's security apparatus including the National Police Service to FasTrack the criminals who killed Agnes and bring them to book. "The people who killed Agnes must face the full force of the law," the Head of State has directed.
