Azimio La Umoja and the Orange Democratic Movement Raila Odinga, the head of one of the coalition parties in Kenya, will unveil his shadow cabinet when he returns home following a week-long trip to India and other countries.
Leader of the Wiper Democratic Movement Party Kalonzo Musyoka made the comments today amid what seems to be an intriguing political struggle between the ruling party and the opposition.
According to Kalonzo Musyoka, Raila Odinga has decided to take this step in order to ensure that President William Ruto's administration is held to its election-related promises. He stated that they are dedicated to maintaining the welfare of the country.
He promised that "when Raila Odinga returns from his abroad trip, we would proclaim our shadow cabinet, complete with our own budget that will be publicized" in order to keep them accountable.
It will be interesting to see who joins Raila Odinga's shadow government. Prior to the general elections in August, he announced Hassan Joho and Wycliffe Oparanya as his choices for the cabinet secretary positions of Lands and Treasury, respectively.
