Alex Tanui Tolgos is a Kenyan engineer and politician who serves ast the governor of Elgeiyo Marakwet county since 2013 when he was first elected on a Jupilee party ticket and later on 2019 re-elected.
The governor recently has defected from deputy president William Ruto's side and has publicly and fearlessly declared his support for Orange Democratic Movement party leader Raila Amollo Odinga, when speaking in a burial in Uasin Gishu county, Tolgos blamed Elgeiyo Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen for chest pumbing and trying to approach him, Tolgos advised William Ruto to use sober minded leaders like Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago instead of Kipchumba Murkomen.
Tolgos bashed those who were against his choice to support Raila Odinga telling them that in 2007 they were in the same ship and nobody blamed them, Tolgos' support for Raila Odinga is a big win as he continues to make inroads in the Rift Valley.
