President Uhuru Kenyatta today visited Kiambu county. The head of state visit comes days after he was embarrassed in Juja by election this week. His preferred candidate Susan Njeri was defeated by People Empowerment party candidate Hon. Koimbuiri. This defeat in his home county ilicited mixed reactions from various leaders and political analysts.
The president was presiding the Launch of assorted Kenya Defence forces operational and engineering vehicles and machinery. The event took place in Thika barracks in Kiambu county. The head of state was airlifted by military chopper to the venue. This launch is one of innovative projects initiated by Kenya Defence forces.
The head of state was welcomed by Defence forces cabinet secretary Hon. Monica Juma upon arrival. Various Kenya Defence forces commanders were also present to welcome the president.
As military norm the president inspected guard of honour prepared by Kenya Defence forces officers. He also planted a tree to commemorate this launch day.
