A dramatic scene has unfolded in Kianyaga shopping centre, Kirinyaga county, after residents rejected to be addressed by some leaders. This was after DP Ruto and his entourage made a stopover after attending a church service in Kianyaga ACK church.
The first leader to be humiliated by the crowd was Gichugu member of parliament, Gichimu. When the legislator was invited to speak, the crowd started to boo him while chanting the name of the area former MP, Njogu Barua.
However, Gichimu managed to speak amidst all the noises where he said that he will stick in UDA party. He added that he is looking forward for free and fair nominations. Watch video from 26th min.
Another leader who was rejected and humiliated by the crowd is the Kirinyaga woman representative, Wangui Ngirici. Contrary to the expectations of many, the crowd turned hostile when Ngirici was invited to speak.
Ngirici however affirmed her support to UDA party despite the heckling. She also pledged to continue supporting the deputy president in his quest for the top seat. Click to watch video.
Ruto is expected to hold several other rallies in Kirinyaga where he will empower various groups. Share your thoughts.
