The Legislators from the larger Gusii region have called on the ruling Jubilee party to consider the interior cabinet secretary Fred Okengo Matiangi for the position of the deputy party leader, for the much anticipated national delegates conference. This is after allegations emerged claiming that those rivals in the party are likely to be axed from the party.
These includes the deputy president William Ruto who seems to have boarded a different special purpose vehicle ahead of the 2022 polls. Dp Ruto has been the deputy party leader for the ruling party since the party was formerly promulgated in the year 2015.
Matiangi has been working closely with the president for the past four years and the deputy president is on record saying that what he was doing was taken over by the CS. These are some of the claims which are prompting the Legislators to take that kind of a stand.
