The Governor of Lamu receiving the CS
He was greeted by Lamu Governor Issa Timamy, who was recently elected on a United Democratic Alliance ticket and has been leading negotiations to guarantee that security returns to the troubled region.
This is his first visit to the region, only hours after addressing a conference in Kerio Valley, where two ladies were shot and killed by bandits during Christmas celebrations when they raided a nearby village.
In addition, he disclosed that he attended public engagements with locals and inhabitants of the region, who were accompanied by a security unit that has been patrolling the Bonni Forest, which has been the site of criminal activity in recent days.
