Kenyans awoke this morning to the news that DP Ruto would arrest Uhuru if he wins the August election with 37 days left until voting.
This new strategy is alleged to have been laid out in his recently released manifesto, where he pledged to abolish state capture and create a committee to investigate Uhuru's administration.
In light of the action, it had been assumed that Uhuru might be prosecuted if it turned out that he had abused his position of authority.
The Jubilee Party of Uhuru, led by its Secretary General, Jeremiah Kioni, has now issued a warning about what will happen if Uhuru is taken into custody.
DP Ruto and his staff have been encouraged by Kenyan Kwanza Kioni to abandon the risky plan to detain President Uhuru Kenyatta. He issued a warning that the action would undermine the nation's peace and cause unrest. There is no way the Executive can decide to prosecute or arrest somebody; that choice rests entirely with the Judiciary.
