Latest Provisional Presidential Results by NTV as at 8:33 PM

Kenyans cast their votes in the presidential election that pitted Deputy President William Ruto against opposition leader Raila Odinga on Tuesday.

After 11 hours of voting, several polling booths closed at 5 o'clock local time. However, the IEBC said that in some places where there were delays, the voting hours had been extended. The focus now switches to tallying and counting the votes.

Preliminary election results indicate a close race between former prime minister Raila Odinga and deputy president William Ruto for the presidency of Kenya.

The fact that thousands of distinct districts contributed more than 90% of the results suggests that there is no difference between the two, according to local tallies of the raw data.

However, it can take a couple of days before the official result is announced.

William Ruto- 51.09%

3,585,413 Votes

Raila Odinga- 48.26%

3,386,847 Votes

George Wajackoyah- 0.42%

29,804 Votes
