President William Ruto has expressed his dissapointments with Kericho Members of the County Assembly who are engaged In fights over the house leadership positions.
The president who was speaking in Bomet county during the Interdenominational prayers at the Bomet greens Stadium noted that it was sad for the Kericho members of the county assembly to continue fighting over positions months after being elected to the office. The visibly angry president Ruto warned the leaders that they should only focus in service delivery and not fights over positions.
The president maintained that all leaders should only focus in delivering on their promises to Kenyans explaining that this is what made him to tour the Nyanza region.
President William Ruto's warning comes just two days after the members of the county assembly were engaged in the Assembly after they disagreed over House leadership.
In a video clip that went viral on social media, some Members of the County Assembly were captured attacking each other as others tried to separate them.
The chaos broke when the county assembly held a special sitting to determine a new house leadership which was being unveiled for the third time since the members of the county Assembly were sworn in after August 2022 general elections.
Kamasian MCA Philip Rono had been elected as the majority leader while Kapsuser MCA Peter Kemoi was named Majority Whip. The two had been settled on after the second leadership had stepped down following opposition and disagreements.
The first house leadership were Londiani MCA Vincent Korir as the majority leader and Whip being Haron Rotich. They never served in their positions as there were also oppositions. The president's warning could end the war that has crippled the operations of the Assembly.
