Following the recent impeachment of former Wajir Governor Mohamed Abdi Mahamud after the senate decision to remove him from office because of endangering the health of the Wajir people, Mr Ahmed Ali Muktar has been sworn in as the new governor of Wajir. He becomes the third Governor to take office as the new boss.
He was sworn in today 18th May at the Wajir County headquarters. The new governor has promised the people of Wajir that he would prioritize water, education and health sectors during his time as the governor.
Ahmed Ali advocates for unity of the Wajir people. He promises that he will ensure that there is proper allocation of resources within the county. In his speech, he criticises nepotism within the county which greatly leads to low self esteem among the people, " My pledge of service is premised on objectivity and professionalism. I appeal for your support," he stated.
