Alot of people gathered at various constituencies of Kisii county, to consult on the best changes they would like to see at the main county leadership. They thanked South Mugirango former MP Omingo Magara for accepting to run for the seat of senator because he is more vocal to offer monitoring and oversight services in the county.'His decision is a good one that has opened our eyes about the leadership of our county.'Recommended John Ogetange.photo:Omingo Magara.
In the new political realignment for the Kisii County leadership,Nyaribari Masaba MP.Ezekiel Machogu is earmarked for the gubernatorial seat with his running mate from Bonchari constituency Mr.Momamyi, although he is said not to be a strong candidate to command many votes from his constituency. In the line up that is under the umbrella of the DP Ruto's UDA pary, they have not identified the Woman representstive. However, sources said that they might settle on Mrs Dorothy Mamwacha,a professional accountant from Bomachoge Chache Constituency.photo:DP Ruto,Machogu and Magara in the new pact.
Kisii County has so far attracted four main candidates in the gubernatorial seat. These are Ezekiel Machogu,Chris Obure,Simba Arati and Oyongo Nyamweya.Simba Arati who started with alot of strength,is likely to be defeated on the way because of his disorganise way of campaigning. He involves the rousy bodaboda riders majority of them being youths without voters'cards photo:Bodaboda riders.
Chris Obure who comes from the same Bobasi Constituency with Arati,is seen as Governor Ongwae's project sent to curtail Arati. Also voters see him as an old man who should retire from politics and resume the county's advisory role.'Chris Obure,Sam Ongeri and Jimmy Angwenyi should retire from active politics and serve the county at fiffent capacities.'Suggested John Ositu.photo:Chris Obure.
They said that Deputy governor Joash Maangi could have succeeded James Ongwae but he does not have indepenrent political principles. After all considerations, the residents settle on Ezekiel Machogu to be the best governor in Kisii county because of his long experience in leadership and not being confrontal.Other factors that favour him for the seat include being indpedent from Governor Ongwae whom the residents do not want to allow to handpick his successor.photo:James Ongwae.
Another alternative they have, is Oyongo Nyamweya because he has good financial muscles. Also they credit him for being honesty and visionary although he is alone ranger in terms of decision making. The accused him of using sycophants who who blur his leadeship image.photo:Oyongo Nyamweya.
The resudents asked the CS Fred Matiang'i to student the signs of political chsnde in Kisii Cohbty and cut his niche there for his future 0okiticsl growth."We call upon our great son Matiang'i to avoid growing from the buds but come to the roots for his dtsbikty and sustainability."Advised George Monari.
