William Chepkut was the personal assistant of Nicholas Biwott. Nicholas was a powerful politician in Moi's government. He commanded respect and fear at the same time and earned the name "total man".
At some point, his kidneys failed and he required a donor to save his life. Fortunately for him, he had William Chepkut by his side, who donated his kidney to the boss and saved his life. This demonstrates that the late had a big heart from the beginning.
This was a unique relationship between a boss and his subject. It was one of a kind. Most people relate well with their bosses because of what they earn, but not for what they can give. In fact, a number of employees may wish the worst to happen to their employer. They would feel gratified when they saw them going through a difficult moment. But for William, he would not stand and watch his boss suffer. He instead sacrificed his kidney. Such friends are rare to find and should be treasured.
